Visit the Kentucky’s capitol in Frankfort! You will tour the Governor’s Mansion, housing 25 of Kentucky’s leaders since 1914. This 25-room mansion is constructed of solid brick, faced with Bowling Green limestone and modeled after Queen Marie Antoinette’s villa in Versailles. It houses many priceless artifacts, furniture and art donated and/or purchased by previous administrations. Next, stroll across the street to tour the Capitol Building. Built in 1910, to replace the earlier 1830 capitol, it is the fourth permanent building since statehood in 1792. You will have time to explore the Capitol grounds on your own. Be sure to check out the Rose Garden and the Floral Clock. Lunch is included this afternoon and the very popular Holy Hill Inn in Midway, KY.

The museum is the world’s largest and oldest military aviation museum featuring more than 360 aerospace vehicles and missiles on display amid more than 17 acres of indoor exhibit space. Each year more than one million visitors come to the museum to learn about the mission, history and evolving capabilities of America's Air Force. The museum's collection contains many rare aircraft of historical or technological importance, and various memorabilia and artifacts from the history and development of aviation. Among them is one of four surviving Convair B-36 Peacemakers, the only surviving North American XB-70 Valkyrie and Bockscar (the Boeing B-29 Superfortress that dropped the Fat Man atomic bomb on Nagasaki during the last days of World War II). In the Presidential Gallery, you can see planes used by Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, Johnson and Nixon. You’ll be on your own to join any one or more of the guided tours departing throughout the morning and afternoon or you can take advantage of the Audio Self-Guided tour.
