Day 1: Today you will travel east to Gettysburg, PA, the site of the bloodiest and most important engagement of the American Civil War.  There will be comfort stops and a stop for lunch on your own along the way.  Upon arrival, check in to the Best Western located right in the heart of Gettysburg and is within walking distance of many historical sites.  The evening is free to settle in, relax and grab some dinner from any one of the many restaurants near the hotel.

Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, head next door to the Lincoln Train Museum.  Enjoy museum displays from interactive model train layouts, many displays depicting memorabilia of the American experience such as: Cowboy Heroes, The Medal of Honor, The Purple Heart, US Military, The Life of Lincoln.  Finally come aboard the full size Lincoln Funeral Car, The United States.  You will have free time this afternoon to grab lunch on your own and explore the many attractions, museums and historical sites in the area.  There is something for everyone from ghost tours, civilian life during the Civil War and of course military life to theater.  This afternoon, visit the Heritage Center where you can experience what life was like for Gettysburg civilians before, during & after the battle.  You will also have an opportunity to touch a part of history during the White Glove program.  Examine and handle historical artifacts and documents from the Civil War Era.

In the evening, you will dine at Dobbin House.  In 1776, Reverend Alexander Dobbin built a house to begin a new life in America for himself and his family. Today his home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a colonial restaurant where candlelit elegance, superior food in abundance, and gracious service bring back the sights, sounds and tastes of two centuries ago.  During dessert, General and Mrs. Lee will regale you with stories of their life and family. (B, D)

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for a day in Adams County.  First stop is Hollabaugh Farms for an orchard/farm tour and Apple Dumpling presentation.  Then head to the Historic Round Barn and Farm Market for some shopping.  Next is Hickory Bridge Farm for lunch with Mamie Eisenhower.  Learn about her life with Ike, through his military service, Presidency and retirement.  After lunch, depart for Adams County Winery for a tour and tasting.  The winery is one of the oldest wineries in Pennsylvania and voted Best Winery in Gettysburg.  You will head back into town for a free evening with dinner on your own. (B, L)

Day 4: Today you will have breakfast at the Gettysburg Museum and Visitors Center in the Refreshment Saloon.  Also inside the center is the Gettysburg Museum of the Civil War and the restored Gettysburg Cyclorama, which depicts the final fury of Gettysburg- "Pickett's Charge".  Following breakfast, depart for the Eisenhower National Historic Site for a Farm Tour.  The farm served the 34th President as a weekend retreat and a meeting place for world leaders. With its peaceful setting and view of South Mountain, it was a much needed respite from Washington and a backdrop for efforts to reduce Cold War tensions.  This afternoon is free for you to further explore the various attractions in Gettysburg which interest you.

Meet back with the group in the late afternoon to depart on a guided Sunset Battlefield Tour.  Relive the harrowing and bloody three days of fighting as you drive through the preserved battlefield, stopping at the top of Little Round Top just as the sun sets over the valley.  Following your tour, head to the historic Carriage House Inn for a late dinner.  Built in 1857, the Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
