Lancaster & Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Day 1 – Travel with JOY to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for an informative, fabulous tour of the Civil War era and a chance to see the popular Noah presentation. Later in the week, you will travel to Gettysburg. Your trip begins early on April 2nd as you travel through Ohio and into Pennsylvania. After your comfort stops and lunch on your own, you will arrive in Lancaster and check into The Country Inn and Suites. After checking in and freshening up, you will enjoy a great buffet at the popular Millers Restaurant. (D)

Day 2 - Breakfast is in tour this morning before shopping at Lancaster’s outlet malls which offer designer items at 30 to 70 percent off of retail prices. Lunch will be on your own and afterwards you are in for a treat as you experience Noah at the Sight and Sound Theatre. Dinner tonight will be at The Plain & Fancy Restaurant. You are sure to enjoy the made from scratch entrees. The remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy. (B,D)

Day 3 - Breakfast is in tour and later check out to spend the day in Gettysburg. Upon arrival in Gettysburg you will meet your step-on guide for an historical tour of Gettysburg’s National Military Park. Your bus tour takes you to the battlefield on an air conditioned bus with a licensed guide. You will see and hear about The Soldiers National Museum, The Jennie Wade House Museum, Lincoln Train Museum, Hall of Presidents and First Ladies, Old Gettysburg Village, Ghostly Images of Gettysburg and you will experience a full Battlefield Tour. Lunch will be on your own and this afternoon you will enjoy the video Cyclorama & Museum which departs more of the history of the Civil War. After your day of touring, check into the Country Inn & Suites for one night. Tonight dinner will be in tour at General Pickett’s. You will enjoy a sumptuous buffet, with truly southern hospitality just north of the Mason-Dixon line. After dinner, return to your hotel and feel free to explore more of Gettysburg on your own. Day 4 - Breakfast is in tour at the hotel and later check out and depart for home. After comfort stops and lunch on your own, you will arrive home knowing more about the history and experiences of the Civil War. (B)
